Reports Summary: Games Through October 30

In the posts just after this one are this week's three reports:

  • Weekly RPI Report: Games Through October 30
  • 2016 Season Simulation:  Week 11 Update (Games Through October 30)
  • 2016 NCAA Tournament Bracket Simulation: Week 11 Update (Games Through October 30)
If you compare my current RPI ratings to the NCAA's, you will see some differences.  There are two reasons for this:  (1) The NCAA's data do not include the October 27 conference tournament game between Stony Brook and Vermont; and (2) For some reason, the NCAA's data report one less loss than it actually has.  So far, I have not been able to figure out how this happened.  Hopefully, the NCAA will correct these problems, as they are having an effect on the ARPI ratings/rankings of some teams that will be among those evaluated by the Womens' Soccer Committee in its NCAA Tournament bracketing process.

This week's simulations, rather than using fully simulated conference tournament brackets, use the actual tournament brackets for all of the conferences.  For games not yet played, the simulated results are based on teams' Adjusted RPIs as of the completion of the October 30 games, adjusted for game locations.  For games whose simulated results are ties, the simulation advances the team with the better ARPI.
