2018 SIMULATED NCAA TOURNAMENT BRACKET 9.3.2018

Here is the simulated NCAA Tournament bracket, based on actual game results through Sunday, September 2 and simulated results for future games.  You may note that the simulated results for Mississippi State indicate it will end the season with a losing record and thus will not be eligible for the NCAA Tournament.  The pre-season simulation, however, indicated they would be 4-2-0 at this stage of the season, whereas they actually are 6-0-0.  This suggests that Coach Anagnost has the team improving over past trends, which means that their record over the balance of the season may be better than the simulation indicates.  The numbers suggest to me that if they end up with a record of 0.500 or better, they will be a strong competitor at least for an at large selection.  This illustrates the kind of cautions that go with the simulation at this stage of the season.
